We have a puppy - a Pug. She is an unholy terror, completely wired anytime that she isn't entirely unconscious. We also have an aging Pug that takes issue sometimes with the youngster's antics. In an effort to keep the peace, we thought we would try these calming chews to see if we could manage to back off the throttle on the little one just a bit when she starts parkouring through the house and bouncing off the head of the older dog.The chews are alleged to be chicken-flavored. I didn't taste-test them so the jury is still out on that accuracy of the flavor, but I can say that both dogs ate these chews without complaint. Now, I get it - Pugs are notorious for eating anything and everything, practically without tasting it. Ours are generally no different, but I have actually encountered chews and supplements that they will NOT eat, so being able to give these without hiding them in other foods is a plus.It took about a half-hour, but these did seem to have a calming effect on both dogs - the older dog was practically asleep (which isn't unusual), and the younger dog was markedly less inclined to run at insane speeds through the house (which IS unusual). Normally her running fits will last at least 45 minutes to an hour, so I can attribute the sudden calmness to the chews.I tried the experiment the following day as well, with the same results, so it wasn't a fluke.I see using these to reduce the stress of any number of traumatic events in the life of a Pug - vehicle rides, trips to the vet, fireworks being set off in the neighborhood, or the very worst of all - nail-trimming day.Seriously - these work. Highly recommend.
These calming chews have been a win across the board—Pax and Bandit love them, and since they do exactly what they’re supposed to do, Liz and I love them too. 😬No wrestling, no suspicious sniff-and-walk-away routine—just happy dogs who treat these like, well… treats. What impressed me most is how balanced the effect is. They take the edge off without turning the dogs into couch zombies. Stressful moments—loud noises, changes in routine, general canine overthinking—are noticeably easier for them to handle. Here’s what stood out:* 🐶 Dog-approved taste – Chicken flavor passes the sniff test immediately.* 😌 Effective calming support – Takes the edge off without sedation.* 🌿 Thoughtful ingredient blend – Chamomile, valerian root, L-theanine, passionflower, and ashwagandha work together nicely.* 🦴 Added glucosamine – A great bonus for joint support.* ⏱️ Works consistently – Reliable results with regular use.* 📦 Generous count – 120 chews goes a long way. These are especially nice for everyday stress management—not just fireworks or thunderstorms, but the normal chaos of life that can get dogs a little wound up.👉🏻 Final Verdict: A calming chew that actually delivers real-world results and dogs genuinely enjoy eating. Five stars without hesitation—Pax and Bandit have spoken, and we agree.٭ Vine Transparency Note: This product was received through the Amazon Vine program. My son lives in New York and we live in Northern New England. One-way trips can take up to six hours in a car. With a great Dane/German Shepherd mix dog, the trip can be challenging. In the past we've given him trazadone, but that sometimes makes him sick, and he's always out of it, not unconscious, just "spaced out" .I thought I'd try these. In the past I've also used valerian root with some success, but he's a big dog and seemed to need a bit more. He also hated the taste of both trazadone and valerian root, so getting him to seallow them was a major challenge. These chews are chicken flavored. They contain valerian root but also include a number of additional relaxing herbs. I ordered them and gave them a try. While we haven't used them on a NYC trip yet, I think the picture tells the real story. Getting him to eat them was so much easier. He ate 3 of the chews, but they certainly seemed to work.I'll update after the next time we make the trip, but just getting him to eat them was so much easier, and he fell asleep!
I’m very familiar with calming supplements for dogs—this isn’t my first rodeo. I run a home-based dog daycare and boarding business, so I’ve used (and rotated through) just about everything over the years: CBD oils, hemp chews, pheromone collars, plug-in diffusers, compression shirts, and the ever-fun task of hiding bitter supplements and/or medications inside other food. These calming chews were refreshingly easy by comparison. They’re small, brown, heart-shaped, and every dog I offered one to took it willingly like a treat—no disguises, no negotiations.I first tried them on New Year’s Eve with five dogs during a full-on, all-day-and-night fireworks situation. Within about 45 minutes, everyone noticeably settled, and that calm held well into the early morning hours (roughly 7 p.m. through 5 a.m.), which was exactly what I was hoping for. Just be sure to administer about one hour before the event to allow for absorption. I’ve used hemp-based products successfully in the past, but tolerance can build over time, so I’m always glad to have another option to rotate in. This was also my first time using a valerian-root-based formula with my boarding dogs, and the results were encouraging enough that I’m genuinely excited to keep these in the mix—especially for a few high-strung regulars where hemp just doesn’t cut it anymore and trazodone isn't well tolerated by their GI tracts.Texture-wise, the chews do break apart easily—almost too easily if you were trying to get a very precise fraction, as they can crumble when overhandled. That said, unless you’re dosing for a truly tiny dog (under 5 lbs) or one taking other medications that may interact, it’s not an issue in typical real-world use. Overall, these have earned a spot in my calming-support rotation. Easy to give, well tolerated, and effective during one of the toughest stress tests of the year. It's worth noting that although these calming chews clearly have a relaxing effect, the dogs were lucid and able to chew on treats and toys, get up for a drink, gently play with one another, and were all responsive—they were just SUPER CHILL!-------xiderdl | calming dog chews | chamomile + valerian + L-theanine | glucosamine support | [chicken flavor, (120 ct)]
These Calming Chews for Dogs work very well. These calming chews help my pup stay relaxed during loud noises and car rides. These chews work well for anxiety situations like thunderstorms and gunshots. They are easy to give and my pup likes the chicken flavor, which makes life easier. The chews are given to your pup by their weight. There is a natural calming formula in each chew with blends of Chamomile, Passionflower, and Valerian Root to help maintain calm behavior and relaxation during travel, thunderstorms, grooming, or routine changes. With L-Theanine Contains Suntheanine (a premium form of L-Theanine) to support relaxation and encourage a sense of restfulness for your pup.Glucosamine & Magnesium Support Includes Glucosamine HCl and Magnesium Citrate to help maintain joint health and provide additional support for active or senior dogs.Herbal & Adaptogen Blend Formulated with Ashwagandha and Organic Ginger Root, known for their soothing properties, to support calmness and overall well-being.Overall the ingredients in these chews support your pup's calmness and well being.
I've noticed a real difference in my dog. We tried several calming methods, including CBD, but it made him way too tired. These chews take the edge off without making him sleepy, and he still has his normal energy.
My Mini Aussie gets incredibly anxious during storms and fireworks, whining and clinging to me. While this isn't a heavy-duty prescription sedative, it works well enough to take the edge off. It helps him calm down and relax without knocking him out completely.
These calming chews turned out to be a nice option for helping take the edge off of our super energetic fur baby. The ingredients list includes several well-known calming supplements, and the chicken flavor made them easy for our dog to accept without any hesitation.First things first, the texture and size of the chews are convenient and easy to give as part of a regular routine, and the scent was appealing to our Pug as well. The container includes a generous amount, which is helpful if you plan to use them consistently. The natural formula also eased our anxiety when we went looking for something gentle to help with stress or hyperactivity. We have a very energetic pug in the house, and while these chews didn’t completely transform her behavior, they did seem to help take the edge off her energy level a bit. She appeared a little more relaxed after taking them, especially during times when she would normally be extra wound up. All dog owners know about the “zoomies”. These high quality chews turn the dial down just a bit. These calming chews are a helpful supplement for mild calming support, particularly for dogs like ours that just need a little assistance settling down from time to time.
These chews are the best that I have bought. My dog does not notice the flavor like he does with other brands. We give him these when we travel, so he can just rest. I have crumbled these into his food before. I also gave him some when he was vomiting (chamomile). I can't say for sure, but he did not vomit anymore.
We have a Beagle that has developed noise sensitivity/anxiety after we went through a close-call tornado last year (we're fine but it was loud and scary). He used to be fine with anything from thunderstorms to gunfire, but now even the kitchen range hood fan has him trembling and hiding in his crate. We've tried a number of different calming treats and medications. I don't really want him to spend his life doped up or half-sedated, so we lean towards treats first, then meds if additional help is needed.Of all the things we've tried, these treats have been the most effective. Based on his weight (approximately 30 lbs) he should take 2 at a time, but he ends up just sleeping if we give him that dose -- almost like the pharmaceutical option. If we give him a single treat, though, it takes the edge off his fear very well without making him dopey. He's pleasantly relaxed without being overly medicated. The blend of herbs and supplements in these treats are all things I've taken myself at different times, so I wasn't surprised to find they were efficacious, and I definitely prefer giving him treats containing only ingredients I recognize. They have a rich and meaty smell that he seems to appreciate and from his reaction they must taste even better. The treats are moist and about the size of a cherry... quickly and easily chewed, even for a small dog.$30-ish seems high priced for treats, but at a rate of one piece per anxious event they'll last a long time -- that's 120 doses per jar, so only $0.25 per dose. When I look at it that way, the price is incredibly reasonable. I'm hopeful that with continued confidence building and training he'll get past the need for them -- but it's good to know they're available.
As a Pomeranian Rescue, I’m always cautious about calming products—especially for new arrivals where we don’t have much history on.The ingredient list: chamomile, valerian root, L-theanine, passionflower, and ashwagandha is a thoughtful blend that supports relaxation without making them groggy. Mine stay alert and happy—just less anxious during stressful moments. The container is sturdy, the chews are soft (very important for little mouths with no teeth), and the 120 count is a good value if you’re using them consistently. If you’re looking for gentle, effective calming support that doesn’t knock your dog out, these are definitely worth trying. We have used this brand in our rescue for years.
These 100% worked to relax my hyper dogs. I have a German Shepherd who gets SEVERE anxiety during fireworks and thunderstorms. These chews worked better than the prescription pills I get from the vet. Over New Years Eve, our neighbors go a little wild with loud noises outside and I gave these to my dog and he went right to bed and did not cower to the floor and go running off to the basement crying like he normally would. He laid right in the bed and snuggled up sound asleep. He seemed to love the taste of these "treats" and they smelled to me like a normal dog treat. He is a large dog, but he likes to eat smaller bites of food so these were the perfect size for him. I gave him three based on the package recommendation and they worked great. He had no bad effects from them and seemed to be back to his normal self the next morning.
this one is kinda hard to review only because we dont know how it really works on our pets since, well at least mine, dont or cannot speak to give me some feedback hahaha. kidding aside, i feel like one needs to test this over the course of weeks or even months before fully knowing all they need too.
Calming Chews:I have a 3 dogs with varying levels of energy. These chews are perfect for meeting their needs. They are small enough to give them alone or as I do, mix with their food. The dogs love the taste whether with food or by themselves. The chews do really well to calm them but doesn't make them like zombies. This is especially nice with my mini schnauzer that has anxiety.Muscle Gain:Along with the calming chews I also give them Muscle Gain. These seem to work okay. They have been taking the chews for a few weeks now and although I haven't seen any significant gain, I haven't seen muscle loss either. This is important because my boxer injured her foot and is in a cast, so she isn't as active as she was. My doberman is a rescue and these have helped him maintain his muscle mass. I haven't seen any difference with the Schnauzer.Multivitamin:The multi is an excellent addition to their morning meal. They are well balanced and provide all of the nutrients they need that may be missing from their food (Farmers Pet fresh food).Hip and Joint:None of the dogs have hip or joint issues, however all there are prone to them. They receive this chew as a preventative supplement. As with the others, it is served with their meal, but they enjoy the taste as a standalone treat as well.
Between thunderstorms and fireworks, our sweet Golden Retriever is an anxious summer pup, so having received these during the winter months, I have yet to determine whether or not they work for our girl. I gave her some to see how she would respond, and she did not react adversely in any way; she was quite chill. The list of ingredients is similar to a product we currently use that works well for her. In fact, it looks like it would be even more effective than what we are using, so I look forward to trying them out in a real situation. I will update this review as we assess the results in an authentic situation.
I have only had an option to use these once so far, and once doesn't mean much in terms of if it really works over time. I dog sit and sometimes have very anxious dogs. I had one recently and she came with medication, but I wanted to see if this would help instead. It could be chance, but she was noticeably better after I gave it to her. Within 30-45 minutes, she was resting on her bed rather than pacing. She ate it readily (she isn't fussy, though, so unsure if all dogs would like them). Can I prove that this was the reason? No. Will I try it again? Absolutely! She will be back in a month and I will definitely try it again.
I have 2 vocal and easily riled up small dogs so I thought I'd give these calming chews a try. They must taste good because they like to eat them and they are easy to serve. No weird smell or anything like that.Value seems pretty good for what you get. I give them each just one half because of their lightweight and have been using for about 2 weeks. Haven't used them around loud sounds yet like fireworks.
I received this on 1/3 and today is the 12th, so technically he's been on it for 10 days and he is acting better. My black lab is 93lbs and will be 14 in 3 weeks. He still has the energy of a 2 year old dog. I couldn't tell any difference the first 5 or 6 days. But he has slowed down the past few days. I give him 3 a day, and he eats them like a normal treat without any issues. I highly recommend this product.
These worked very well on NYE to calm my dogs. They loved the way they tasted too.
These chews have made a noticeable difference in my dog's anxiety! She gets stressed during thunderstorms and fireworks, and these chews help take the edge off. She's noticeably calmer and less reactive to loud noises. The soft chew texture is easy for her to eat. I appreciate the natural ingredients like chamomile, valerian root, and L-theanine. It's a gentle approach to managing her stress without heavy sedation.
Picked these up because we've got a very hyper GSD puppy and a very anxious aging shepsky, and they work great for both of them! They love the treat flavors, going nuts whenever I grab the little cannister. I have noticed that the recommended amount of treats is a little hit or miss based on weight, but test it out and increase or decrease as needed. Since our shepsky doesn't like fireworks and is a little overweight, I found that she needs about 6 for them to work, but the puppy is one 1 treat over his recommended in order for the calming effect to kick in. Either way, if you have dogs that need to stay calm while you're away at work or whatever, these are a great bang for your buck!
